Arts and crafts camp for children aged 7-11
<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>

This year, we are again welcoming old and new campers. If you too are fascinated by the world of plants and animals, the beauty of the landscape that surrounds you here in Zebeg\u00e9ny and would like to capture it all, using different techniques, then come to the museum's summer camp.<\/p>

Camp dates:<\/strong> 11 - 15 August 2025, 9:00-16:00
We can provide supervision on request during museum opening hours.
Thematics:<\/strong> Nature, landscape and man - these three themes are explored through the art of Istv\u00e1n Sz\u0151nyi, using a variety of techniques.

SUMMARY OF LAST WEEK'S CAMP
<\/span>This is how the primary school students spent their creative week<\/span><\/h4>

This year's second camp was aimed at primary school children, but the team was joined by some very determined and talented pre-school age artists.<\/p>

Plants, animals, people and landscape - every day there was a theme from Istv\u00e1n Sz\u0151nyi's favourite themes.<\/div>
We took seriously the master's teaching that \"Without observation of nature, to the exclusion of original experience, no honest, true effect can be achieved.\"<\/div>
Monday<\/span> <\/strong>In the morning we had a good look at the beautiful flowers in the museum garden,<\/div>
Tuesday<\/span> <\/strong>our animal models: Emil, the dog; Master Szecska, the rat; Donatello, the turtle; and Sas and Kenderes, the chickens. (Thanks to the Dud\u00e1s family and the G\u00e1l\u00f3csy family.)<\/div>
Wednesday<\/span> <\/strong>under the shady trees of the Danube bank, each one captured the Danube detail he liked,<\/span><\/div>
Thursday<\/span> <\/strong>and comparing the youngest and the oldest camper, (among whom\u00a0<\/span>8 years and a difference of about 60 cm), we could observe how the proportions of a person's body parts change. \"I wonder what we will look like as adults?\" the children wondered.<\/div>
Inspired by the morning's artwork, each afternoon we used a different technique to explore the theme of the day. We created watercolours of flowers and animals, needle-punched landscapes and life portraits, and sculptures of different movements in wire and aluminium foil.<\/div>
A Friday<\/span> <\/strong>the giant swing and zip line in the trees of the Sz\u0151nyi Garden was born from a mid-week donation and we were very grateful. Thank you again to N\u00e1ndor Szederk\u00e9nyi and his son Marcell for the occasional adventure park!<\/div>

As a final task, we organised an exhibition of the most beautiful creations made during the week, so that parents and friends could admire the finished works together.<\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

This is how the upper school students spent their creative week<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>

The theme of the camp was related to the current temporary exhibition of our museum, entitled: Home, sweet home. The inspiration for the various tasks came from the house and furniture of Istv\u00e1n Sz\u0151nyi's family, and from the gardens and homes of some of the participants.<\/p>

We explored the theme using a variety of techniques, using pencil, ink, watercolour, wool for watercolour and needlepoint, and anything we could reuse in the making of the model: bent shelves, scrap cardboard, wire, textiles, etc.<\/div>
