Meet Zebegény! Our guided walks start at the house of István Szőnyi, the painter of the Danube bend, and then we will walk through the village and show you the sights of Zebegény.

New Szőnyi paintings enrich the museum's permanent exhibition. Eight important works are on loan from the Museum of Fine Arts - Hungarian National Gallery. All of the works on loan are of great importance. Some of them have been on display for years.

István Szőnyi is an outstanding figure of 20th century Hungarian painting. He lived and worked in Zebegény from 1924 until his death. It was here that his art came to full fruition, his painting was influenced by the magical beauty of the landscape, the people of the village and his family.

Our museum education programmes are designed to make a visit to the museum a memorable experience for all ages. We offer weekend programmes for families and age-appropriate activities for school groups, with a variety of age-appropriate themes and a wide range of playful tasks and puzzles to help them get to know
