We welcome you to our creative workshops at the Szőnyi Museum!
Our sessions are held at the following times:

ZEBEGÉNYI CULTURE
In autumn there will be several KulTours in Zebegény. Our popular museum + walking programme combines exploring the picturesque beauty of Zebegény with a tour of one of the country's most famous apartment museums, where painter István Szőnyi lived and painted his finest works.

Night at the museum
There will be three more guided tours of the museum at night this year, starting earlier than in the summer, as it is getting darker. It's almost unbelievable how different it is to walk in the dark, with controlled lights, through the rooms of the painter's former home, this old house, to look at his paintings and discover the features of objects and furniture that are invisible in daylight. The multi-sensory, sometimes mystical guided tour is accompanied by archival images and sound.

WEAVING IN THE OPEN AIR
Dear weaving enthusiasts!
You are invited to a one-day weaving workshop, 2025. Sunday 31 August In Zebegény, in the garden of the Szőnyi Museum.
Please let Rosa Raab know by messenger if you are coming and she will send you a detailed description.
PORTRAIT PAINTING FOR COUPLES
A great way to get in tune at the beginning of the year is to paint a couple's portrait in the museum.

STORIES INSIDE AND BEYOND THE MUSEUM WALLS

Join us on a journey of discovery inside and beyond the museum walls! The programme starts at the museum, and from there we'll wander through the charming streets of Zebegény, in search of special places. During the walk, we'll recall the village's past with anecdotes and archive photos, and tell you about the artists whose lives and art are intertwined with Zebegény. The world is full of wonders, discover some of them with us!

WANT A CARPET PICTURE IN YOUR HOME?
2025. August 2., 9., 16., 23., 30. 15.00-17.00
Choose your favourite painting in the museum and take it home - but only as a copy!
With the professionalism of a forger, you can paint your own Carpet on canvas, using the original egg tempera technique.
Create in the most authentic setting, where the original paintings were inspired, on the shady veranda of the Szőnyi House or in the garden!
Fee for the workshop: 5.000 HUF/person
