Circle of Friends Association

Purpose of the association (statutes)

The Circle of Friends of István Szőnyi is a social organization - operating as an association - whose aim is to increase the number of friends and connoisseurs of the arts, especially fine arts, by propagating István Szőnyi's art at home and abroad, thus helping to achieve the fundamental objective of the Circle of Friends, namely the dissemination of general artistic culture. It welcomes to its organisation all those who are supporters of the fine arts and the arts in general, those who are caretakers of the legacy of István Szőnyi, and all those who, as members of the Circle of Friends, undertake to promote the objectives set out in the statutes of the Association.

Scope of activities

Running art schools (István Szőnyi Art School, Youth Art Camp, art camps). Organising class trips, cultural programmes, forest schools for school groups. Support for the cultural activities of the Szőnyi István Memorial Museum.

Farming

The association's programmes are financed by the fees paid, membership fees paid by its members and grants awarded through competitions. Its income is used to organise and run the fine arts programmes and to maintain, run and renovate the camp.

Members of the Association

1./ Membership of the Association is open to all Hungarian and non-Hungarian citizens over the age of 16, as well as to legal entities (institutions, organisations, etc.) who undertake to fulfil the obligations set out in the Association's statutes and who are admitted as members by the Board on the basis of their application for membership.

2./ Membership of the Association is open to legal entities that provide the Association with annual funding exceeding HUF 50,000.

Admission of applicants to the Association

The Bureau must decide on the admission of applicants for membership of the Association within six months of the application being submitted, on the recommendation of two members.
